I am a wife and Mom, and I love every second of it! I love my family, God and this spectacular world full of all of its nooks and crannies. I am an explorer of these hidden gems. I love teaching, learning, coffee, cooking, photography, hiking, reading and writing. We live in East Tennessee, but I come from Maine. I grew up in a small town which had a big sense of community. We called it ‘The Village’. Growing up there shaped me, and I believe with all my heart that it does, indeed, take a village to raise a child. Let me assure you, the two are literally worlds apart. I felt as though I had gone to a whole new world when I arrived here in the midst of ‘The Smokies’. While I still mourn the absence of ‘Lady Atlantic’, I have discovered that this part of the world is very different, (which I can’t help but write about) but in many ways, it is just the same. In the end, it’s all about family, faith, and love.
I am married to Mr. Wonderful who is a developer and a techie and the most amazing faith filled, hero this world has ever seen. Call me partial, but I mean it when I say he is beyond words in his generosity, his loyalty, his heart. He is also tough and a man’s man which may sound perhaps a bit contradictory, but somehow, it all comes together into this amazing man who I get to spend the rest of my life with. Thank you, God! I love you too!
I am also the mother of a son who has a personality that shines so bright you’d be helpless but to notice him even in a crowd. He has compassion that has taught me so much over the years. He is absolutely brilliant and so full of life and energy that he inspires me to try to see life through his eyes. There, you find wonder and awe in the ordinary. You discover that within an imagination lies many other worlds where you can do anything, be anyone and change everything. He has my heart and my unconditional love in a way I didn’t know existed before I became a mother. T was born with cleft lip and palate, and he has struggled through many surgeries showing a strength that belongs solely to heroes and overcoming every obstacle with grace and compassion. He also suffers from some learning delays which homeschool has almost entirely obliterated! Yay! Finally, he has ADHD, which apparently is a side effect of being especially awesome, brilliant and unique in the path you take; often taking the path less traveled but having so much more fun than most of us. Truly, I suspect he is a genius. His mind is a gift so exciting that if it was mine, I couldn’t sit still either.
I originally started this blog because a few years ago, I started homeschooling my son, and it has been a journey full of adventure – a journey I wanted to share because I honestly love it, I see the value and rewards it has blessed my son with, it challenges me, and it is a big part of who I am. I also welcome you into my world with my blog. This is about my life, and there is far more than homeschool. There is cooking which I love! I am currently a bit obsessed with all things Mediterranean. I also love to capture moments – moments I see either beauty or magic or pain within. I do this with my camera and through storytelling. I have been telling stories since I could speak. A single word can say so much, and that’s why I love to put them together like single ingredients in this whole potion that once released entertains, teaches and hopefully makes you either laugh or cry a happy tear.
I am so glad you visited today and I would love to have you subscribe so that you can join me. Chances are, we have something to learn from each other. Please talk to me in the comments. I will reply. I welcome your thoughts and thank you for sharing this with me!

I’m thankful for a God above who loves me as I am.
Who hears my prayers, calms my fears and reminds me that I can.
I’m thankful for my Savior, Jesus who changed and saved the world,
And died for you and died for me and every other boy and girl.
I’m thankful for this world of mine with mountains, skies, and seas.
Full of people, full of hope, full of life and all its beauty.
I’m thankful for my family and each face and heart that make it mine,
I’m thankful that I’m blessed each second and loved and treated kind.
I’m thankful that I’m warm and fed and blessed with this great home.
I’m thankful that no matter what, I never feel alone.
I’m thankful for the sun and moon, the stars, the rain, the snow.
I’m thankful for a life of moments to love, to learn to grow.
I’m thankful for each breath I take, each beat my heart goes on,
I’m thankful for a world with music in both laughter and in song.
I could never tell it all, how grateful is my soul.
You see, blessings are countless when He’s with you as you go.
