What would Fall be without comfort food? I hate to think of such a world. We use our crockpot and our Instant Pot all year long but it gets the most use during the fall and winter. We have collected a bunch of our favorite Fall Recipes for you to enjoy too.

Slow Cooker Applesauce

T and I experimented with several different applesauce recipes and this was the clear winner. It’s also crazy simple. Every year the day after our annual trip to the Apple Orchard we come straight home and start a pot of this. It’s amazing.

Slow Cooker Chili is one of my all time most popular recipes, come fall and winter thousands of people make it every day! And for good reason, this is the best crockpot chili around! It’s incredibly flavorful, it’s packed with protein and perfectly hearty, plus it’s a dinner everyone can agree on.
You can’t really do Fall right without good chili. A chili bar is a really fun way to host a football (or soccer in our case) party at your house or on your tailgate too. We have certainly tried our share of chili recipes but we do have a favorite and it comes from Jaclyn, who blogs over at Cooking Classy.

So I’m not sure if you guys know this but Chicago has some amazing food. Like really really really bomb food. And I’m not just talking about deep dish pizzas or Portillo’s chocolate cake shake.
This pot roast recipe from Damn Delicious is exactly that! You’ll ooooh and aaaaahhh with every last bite! So tender and flavorful and easy!!! Just crazy good!

I used to think I didn’t like sweet potatoes. I was convinced of this as though it were a fact. But then one day someone made me a southern style sweet potato casserole all topped with roasted marshmallows and sprinkled with brown sugar and cinnamon and I couldn’t resist. I gave them one more try. Since then, I have searched for really good sweet potato recipes and this one delivers. Add about a tsp of fresh, finely chopped ginger to the crockpot for an extra punch of flavor that works perfectly with the orange juice.

T is a huge fan of Coq au Vin and he introduced it to our kitchen last year. He did it the hard way though and it was a long labor of love but worth it in the end. We were both super excited to find out that Tieghan had worked her magic and replicated the dish so deliciously in an Instant Pot recipe. Yum!!!

This apple cider recipe from Gimme Some Oven is so FALL! I do alter it by preparing it using the orange zest only and removing the rind. I don’t care for the bitterness of the rind but that is a personal preference. This is perfect for cold nights and is extra warming when provided a kick of Rum.
