Dolly Parton’s Stampede In Pigeon Forge Tennessee
A Great Family-Friendly Dinner Show The Whole Family Will Love
We love the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. There is so much to do, so much to eat, and so much to see. It’s hard to decide where to begin. I’m here to help with that. I’ve been almost everywhere in this beautiful area tucked into the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. I know what I felt like was worth the cost and where I would have saved my money too. That said, I highly recommend Dolly Parton’s Stampede, formerly The Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge.
The Dolly Parton Stampede Dinner Theater will have you laughing, cheering, and chuckling throughout. It will also move you. It’s beautifully done.
At the beginning of the show, you are placed on a side. You either represent the North or the South and you cheer for your team throughout. The first time I visited the show I was on the North and we won. This last time I sat on the side for the South and we won. I might be a good luck charm. 🙂
Once sides have been chosen the story begins with a stunning act showcasing the Native Americans.
The music is amazing and all kinds of God’s creatures find their way onto the stage. Like these buffalo… I wish I have captured this better but you are not allowed flash photography so I did the best I could.
The dancers were so much fun! The costumes were lovely and the energy level on high!
The stunt riders were amazing and had everyone holding their breath with moves like this!
The show was spectacular. There was singing and dancing all over that floor! Sometimes they even descended from the ceiling!
And there were covered wagons and cowboys fighting it out for the win.
And there was also Skeeter. Here he is in a chicken suit! Skeeter added so much to the show and he kept us all tickled!
The competition was so much fun! Audience members were asked to toss toilet seats in a rather strange game of horseshoes. There was a chicken chase. There were even adorable little pigs racing for an Oreo. But my favorite was this race right here-Skeeter Downs.
In the end, we were all filled up on Cornish hens and apple turnovers. So when the final act began and Dolly’s voice filled the auditorium with Color Me America, we all sighed in sweet contentment. The horses and riders raced in formations across the arena and the faster they went the greater the sense of patriotism built within us.
This is a show worth experiencing with your family and friends. You won’t leave disappointed 🙂 If you have been to this attraction please share your opinion in the comments section below. We all want to hear what you think too!
