Redrum Asylum – Haunted Walk at Memorial Park Community Center

Saturday – October 20th, 2018 from 5 pm to 9 pm

Open to all ages
Cost: $2/personThis year Memorial Park Community Center’s Haunted Walk will return to Redrum Asylum. After last year’s encounters with the patients, some visitors never made it out. This year we will revisit the Asylum with hopes of finding the missing people. The story of Redrum Asylum … Back in the 1920’s, the owner performed simple surgeries in this privately owned estate and all of his patients would die on the operating table. If you slowly walk up the front walkway, between the row of hedges, leading to the main entrance you can hear the voices of the insane doctor and his staff, and if you walk around to the back of the house you can hear the screams of the dead patients, who are buried in the backyard. The building was demolished in 2010. Rumor is that when the building was shut down in 1948 he moved his services to another building located on Bert St. They say he carried on his gruesome practices on people until 1960. Many patients went missing and were never seen again. The building was torn down a few years later. The building location was right where Memorial Park Community Center is located today. Sometimes late at night, you can catch a glimpse of a dark figure lurking the halls. Look for more patients to work on. Remember the darker the sky, the scarier the adventure! Are you ready to enter Redrum Asylum? For more info, call 423-434-5749
