Make Your Own Bird Feeder’s
DIY Birdseed Ornaments Birds Love
I love my birds. Watching them at the feeder in the morning tends to put me in high spirits for the whole day. To repay them, I thought I would make them their own edible Christmas tree. This is an easy and fun project you can do with your little people too.
They also make amazing DIY gifts for your kids to make and share with the bird lovers in the family come Christmas time.

Here is what you need to make Birdseed Ornaments:
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
- 3 Tablespoons corn syrup
- 3/4 cup flour
- 4 cups bird seed
- Pam Non-Stick cooking spray
- Wax Paper
Put everything except the seed and flour in a small pan and warm it. You do not need to boil it just get it well mixed.
Then in a separate bowl mix your flour and seed.
Finally, combine the both of them and let it cool for a few minutes.
Lay your ornaments on wax paper and spray them with non-stick cooking spray.
Fill them up generously and then cover with another sheet of parchment and squish everything down real good.
Remove the parchment and place a straw in the center of each ornament to make a hole for your ribbon.
Let them sit a few hours and then remove them gently. String them with the ribbons and then you will have these lovely little beauties!
Then, even better, hang them up and attract your little beauties!
These also make really sweet Christmas presents for kids to make and share as their own DIY Christmas gifts. Everyone loves bird watching.
Ours is all decorated with these birdseed ornaments now and it is honestly the cutest little edible Christmas tree! The birds and are loving it and so am I. Go ahead and make some of your own and then tell us how it went in the comments below! We love to hear from you!
