November Thirty Day’s of Gratitude – Day Five
Join Me For A Month of Being Thankful
When you are down, it can be harder to see the blessings surrounding you. Frustration, depression, anger, loss, insecurity (I could on and on…) These can all act as blinders if we let them. And we all know at least some if not all of these afflictions personally. Don’t we? That’s why it’s so important to focus on our blessings. To push aside the weight of our burdens and allow the light of our blessings to pour over us, restore us, and reignite the light within each of us. We are stronger when we own gratitude.
This Thirty Days of Gratitude Challenge should probably be a 365 Days of Gratitude. Because the truth of the matter is, it’s when we feel like we have the least to be grateful for, that we need to embrace gratitude the tightest. If you haven’t joined us yet on this Thankful Journey, why not grab a pen and a paper and start right now? No matter what is present in your day to day life, more time focusing on what’s going right is bound to leave you lighter.

That said, for my Fifth Day of my Thirty Days of Gratitude Challenge I am calling out
Life’s Little Details. I am so grateful for the things we forget to be grateful for.
I am grateful for another day on earth.
The heart beating inside my chest.
The fresh air outside my front door.
The trees swaying in the Fall breeze, clinging to those last few drops of color.
And for hope.
I am grateful for my family.
For my friends, wherever they may lay upon my timeline. Every single one.
For long walks among tall trees.
For full moons.
For wishing stars.
For contagious laughter.
For good food.
Warm blankets on cold days.
And I am thankful for every person reaching out to help another person.
And for cats and dogs and birds and dolphins.
And for good books with happy endings.
For the smell of fresh-cut grass.
For the warmth of sunlight when it touches my skin.
For long rivers and tiny rambling creeks.
For apples tasted straight from the trees.
For the sound of rain on a metal roof.
For memories that make my heart smile.
And fresh herbs.
And for God, who made them all.
Have a beautiful day. And if you’re having a hard day, look for something beautiful within it. It is there. And I hope you have a better day tomorrow.
