Psalm 23 – The Lord Is My Shepherd Print
Tonight, I spent a little over an hour being blessed by a Zoom Call with my church girls, Grace Women’s Group. Over the last week, as I have been absorbing this new reality that the virus has ushered in, I have been spending a lot of time in Psalm 91. Over and over I’ve claimed the verses. And I’ve let every promise sink in deep. I’ve uttered each line, recognizing it as our prayer for protection. It has helped in easing the pain of my racing and breaking heart. I don’t know how I would have made it through this week without this Psalm. As new restrictions have been placed, and new and devastating numbers have been released, I have run teary-eyed back to Him, again and again, holding out this Psalm like a shield before me. Every time I have been calmed and felt so loved. His words have provided great comfort to me.
It is true… “He is my refuge and my fortress.” – Psalm 91:2

This week our group discussed keeping Psalm 23 close at hand so I made a print to put on the fridge because I seem to visit the fridge about every ten minutes these days. I saw a meme about how we need to start practicing social distancing from our refrigerators and I wondered who had been looking in my window. lol
You can download this print of Psalm 23 too, I am offering it at no charge in my shop until April 13th, 2020. I hope we can all find comfort in this one too. I intend to go slowly line by line, digging deep, and I will also be watching sermons on this Psalm.
One little note about Psalm 23. When I was a little girl and first heard this Psalm the part about His staff and rod brought me little comfort. It didn’t sit right. You see, I had heard preaching that taught this verse as though God is ready to beat us with those items. It’s false teaching. Nothing could be further from the truth. The staff is used by the shepherd to steer his sheep in the right direction so they don’t wander into dangerous places and the rod is used against the wolves that try to attack the sheep. This is worth knowing and I am being super brief here but find a good study on Psalm 23 and you will find peace in this verse.
Finally, my grandfather loved Psalm 23 the best. I can’t help but think that knowing that alone, is proof I am on the right track here.
Stay well my friends – love one another!

I put together this journal with writing prompts to help our kids create a personal record of their experience with the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic. Keeping a journal is a good and healthy way to have a place to spill your thoughts, feelings, and opinions, honestly without having to worry about how they will be received or how they may affect others.
So, I have created this journal as a means for our students (and adults as well) to let it all out and create a personal record of their experience. Download Yours Here
