What Is The Christmas Candle All About
The Christmas Candle is a book about a lovely little town in England. This little town is full of life and love and joy and hardship. Just like most small towns. But Gladstone has something that most towns don’t have. Every twenty-five years the candle maker is visited by an angel. This angel touches a single candle. That blessed candle leads to amazing blessings…
Why I Loved The Christmas Candle
This book is pure charm. The characters are endearing, the town itself is delightful. The story is simple yet impactful. It’s one of those books that you instantly want to share. When I finished reading it I immediately decided that this year I wanted to give each of my sisters a Christmas book, a pair of fluffy socks, and a candle as an early Christmas present. So, I read about the Danish Hygge recently and this read sent me over the top. I am all in! And I already know which sister will receive this book already.
From The Book Jacket of The Christmas Candle
Journey back to a simpler time, to a small English village where nothing out of the ordinary ever happens. Except at Christmastime.
When a mysterious angel suddenly appears in a lowly candlemaker’s shop, the holy and the human collide in a way that only God could imagine. Glowing bright with a timeless message, The Christmas Candle will warm your heart with a surprising reminder of God’s beautiful love.
About The Author of The Christmas Candle – Max Lucado
Lucado says he “writes books for people who don’t read books.’ Even so, his best-selling books have sold 100 million copies across 54 languages worldwide. Perhaps Lucado is converting non-readers with his poetic storytelling and homespun humor. Perhaps readers can sense that his encouraging words flow from the heart of a pastor.
Every trade book Max Lucado has written during the last 30 years began as a sermon series for his home church Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas. Max presses every word of his sermons through this sieve: Why would this matter on Monday morning? How can I relate the promises of God to every person, wherever they are, regardless of the burdens they carry?
