Visit Chimney Rock State Park For Beautiful Views
Amazing Views And Old Time Charm Combine to Make Chimney Rock A Great Destination
Chimney Rock State Park is amazing! The views are spectacular, the trails are fun, the waterfall is gorgeous, and it is the perfect place for a family fun day! We actually visited the park twice this summer, but the first time was in May and the rain was being ridiculous so we didn’t get to see the views. We couldn’t let it go though, so we went back a few weeks ago and I have already planned a trip to visit again once the leaves have changed. I’m dreaming about that view already!

Chimney Rock State Park Has Views Forever
Look at those mountains, guys! 75-mile panoramic views of Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. It’s absolutely gorgeous! And the best part is you don’t have to climb this mountain to enjoy these views! They have an elevator! YES!
315 Feet of Granite Rise From The Mountain at an elevation of 2,280 feet above sea level!
Once the elevator brings you to the top, you can visit the store or grab an ice cream. Outside, there are stairs that will take you straight to the peak!
Once we had taken in the views we were ready to set off for Hickory Nut Falls Trail which leads to an amazing waterfall! So amazing, that Hollywood used it to film the final scene in Last of the Mohicans. The trail is not long and not hard, and takes you along a well-defined path through hardwood forest! The park is known for its conservation efforts and many endangered wildflowers safely call this park home.
The reward is spectacular! Hickory Nut Falls is 404 feet high and gorgeous!
This place was so beautiful and we all loved it. It also made for some gorgeous family photo’s It’s hard to beat a backdrop like this one!
Hollywood loves this little piece of North Carolina too!
Scenes from a number of movies have been filmed in the Park, including The Last of the Mohicans, Firestarter and A Breed Apart. The town of Lake Lure is just minutes away and this is where we rented a lakehouse for our family vacation in May. We found the little town enchanting and the village full of wonderful treasures!
