Visit Steele Creek Park Bristol Tennessee
Steele Creek Park is a beautiful place with lots to do!
For our first week of summer vacation, we decided we wanted to be outside a lot! I had heard about Steele Creek Park from a WOWW Walk special guest speaker who taught us how to bird-watch at Warriors Path State Park. Ever since he told us about Steele Creek Park’s beautifully maintained trails, the multiple picnic spots, the playgrounds, the train, and even the paddle boats, I knew we needed to go. I am so glad we did. Check out our trip!

The first thing that we noticed was people fishing. The fish are plentiful and you can actually see them in the water. Schools of them. It was cool but fishing isn’t really our thing so we headed over to the Nature Center. Inside we discovered several fun displays plus live turtles and fish. There was a discovery table which was interesting and a Steele Creek Park Forest Ranger in there answering questions.
After we left the Discovery Center, we went outside and discovered a bunch of paddle boats!
There are also lots of pavilions and grills available for use at Steele Creek Park.
We even found a little train station and train tracks!
All of this was wonderful but we were there to hike the 2200 acre park. Trails are everywhere and you can take your pick from challenging to a gentle stroll.
We were there for a gentle stroll but we accidentally turned off onto a side trail and it ended up turning into a six-mile hike. Oops! That was OK, though, we saw turtles, butterflies, fish, geese and their babies, and wildflowers galore!
Look at these, Lovelies!
It was a beautiful day for a long hike and we enjoyed it thoroughly!
We even came across a waterfall!
This was a great trip! Steele Creek Park has something for everyone! The park is well cared for and the staff is friendly and helpful! They also offer a golf course and have a disc golf course which we will be checking out the next time we go. I can not believe we didn’t discover this gem sooner! It truly is beautiful and very soon we will be returning with bikes to play some more! This will be a destination we frequent this summer and we recommend you and your family do too!
